We realise this message goes out all the time but please will you let us know if any of your telephone numbers or your home address has changed during the last few months. We often have difficulty contacting parents and sometimes we need to get in touch with people immediately. Although we regard our school as a very safe environment, accidents do happen and we have had to take pupils to hospital without being able to get in touch with parents. This can obviously be worrying

We expect all pupils to wear school uniforms and school PE kits. ​ Please ask any of the office staff if you wish to purchase: A red school sweatshirt @ £8.50 each A red school cardigan @ £9.50 A school PE kit @ £8.50 (this comprises a white T shirt, a pair of red shorts and a PE bag) A school reading book bag @ £5 each

In today's Safeguarding Assembly, we have been thinking about all the people we could turn to for help in school. Whether it is a problem about school work, or a personal matter, there is always an adult we may talk to.

Welcome back to school to all our pupils and parents and greetings to all those who are new to our school this September. We hope you have all had an enjoyable summer holiday.

We are delighted to welcome our youngest pupils back to a new look Early Years Unit. The old carpet tiles have been removed and the wooden floors cleaned and polished to make them look absolutely brilliant. Along with the new toilets, this area is vastly improved on last year. Staff have been working hard during the last week to prepare the unit for the start of another busy year.

We would like to welcome a new teacher to our team. Miss Usher is our new year 4 teacher. We wish her well in her new post and all our staff are looking forward to working with Miss Usher.

Richard Baker, the Branch Manager at the The Waitrose store in Willerby has been kind enough to donate some of their summer promotional display mobiles. These were heading to the recycling bins once they were taken down from the store in August. They tied in perfectly with our balloon displays in our library. Many thanks go to Mr Baker, for his kind gift to us. it certainly has given a lift to our library.

Each week, we are thinking about a difference Learning Muscle, as part of our ongoing work around having a Growth Mindset.

Each week at Stepney, we have a theme, taken from one of our British Values. We also link these to our Jigsaw termly PSHCE themes, whilst also considering different cultural celebrations and special days from around the world. This half term, our British Ethos theme is Mutual Respect and Tolerance. We are also a Growth Mindset School: this year we are thinking about Learning Muscles, which we think about and present our Star of the Week awards for. We have combined our poster

Just to remind parents that the school is closed to pupils today as it is one of the 5 staff training days. We will reopen tomorrow for the start of the new year.
