This week, schools across the U.K. are celebrating the annual 'National School Sports Week'. We have lots of fun and engaging activities available for everyone to enjoy not only for this week, but throughout the entire Summer. We're kicking off our 'National School Sports Week at Home' with our very own Stepney Physical Activity Challenge Activity Kits (available to collect from School). The kit includes fun equipment and lots of physical challenge ideas to keep our families active whilst having fun all Summer long. Alongside our own physical activity kits, the Youth Sports Trust, along with Hull Active Schools and Active Humber, have created a weeks worth of fun activities for our families
For every pupil in Reception, Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 we are giving them these free PE Home Learning Fitness kits consisting of a skipping rope, ball, bean bags and cones, contained in a bag. Mr Jones, our PE coach has put these together. There are activity sheets which provide loads of different ideas. As the interschool sporting activities that we should have been involved with have all been cancelled, Mr Jones has used some of this funding for this equipment. Details will be text to parents telling them when they may pick up these kits.
Parents - please will you complete the Head Start Hull COVID-19 survey to help them ensure they understand how the current Corona Virus is impacting on your family's emotional health and wellbeing and ensure they have services in place who can provide the right support at the right time. It doesn’t matter you have filled in the survey the first time or not. We know things are changing on a day by day basis so Head Start needs everyone to fill in the survey regularly so they can be aware of any changes or emerging needs Please use this link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TZNFNJS

May we remind our families that if any member of their family shows symptoms then the whole family needs to isolate for 14 days, even if they are not sure - and if a test is done and all is well they can return to school. At another local school (not Stepney) a parent, with a child in one of the bubbles, tested positive and called school to let them know. Their child had been attending school even though the Dad has been showing symptoms. The local authority was contacted and they suggested that because the child had been coming to school while the father was showing symptoms the school needed to close the bubble and all the other children and staff in this bubble needed to isolate for 14 da
