In preparation for reopening on Monday (8th March), our school will close briefly at 12pm tomorrow (Friday 5th March for the AFTERNOON ONLY). This is in order to undertake cleaning and other preparation of classrooms. For those parents who have had children in school this term so far, they will need to collect their children at 12pm tomorrow. Packed lunches in Grab Bags will be provided for pupils.
This term, we are asking pupils to come in their PE kits on the days when it is PE. We do not want them to bring their PE kit in a bag to school. On PE days, they should come in the school PE kit but they may also wear tracksuit bottoms and warmer tops. Trainers need to be worn. We are all really excited because tomorrow (Thursday 4th March), it is World Book Day. Whether at school or at home, we want to see pupils, staff and parents (if they wish) dressing up as a Super Hero. There is also a great competition to see if you can turn a vegetable into a book character. As the photos show, there are going to be some super prizes, which we will be able to give out the week after when school reopens.

Our Breakfast Club will operating from Monday 8th March with the same arrangements that we had in the autumn term 2020. Regrettably, because of the current circumstances, we still have to limit this to 30 places and give priority to children of Key Worker parents and to those who are registered for Free School Meals. Our newest Ready Steady Read Reading Initiative will begin on 8th March. Staff will be sharing these slides on Monday 8th March. As we reopen the school to all pupils, we are having a real push on reading for pleasure and this is a great opportunity to encourage pupils to be reading. On Sunday 28 February, the Department of Health and Social Care announced that from Monday 1 March, households with primary school, secondary school and college age children, including childcare and support bubbles, can test themselves twice every week at home as schools return from Monday 8 March. When we return to school on Monday 8th March, any Chrome Books borrowed from us need to be returned to school. It is essential that the charging leads are returned as well. Both chrome books and their chargers will be put into Chromebook storage trolleys so these may be accessed by pupils in school.
