Year 6 Tree Planting part 2

For the ninth row in succession, David Longthorne enlisted our year 6 class this afternoon to help him plant some trees along the banks of Barmston Drain. This is a man-made feature that was originally dug to drain farmland. Seen as a 'green corridor' for wildlife from the city centre back into the countryside, this is a very important avenue. This is a 2018 gold award-winning project that has seen Stepney pupils helping the city. The weather was kind for us as pupils dug and planted. It was quite soft underfoot so wellies were essential!
