Harvest Festival Appeal

Harvest is still an important event for us at school. We like to celebrate the time when produce is traditionally gathered in from the fields and orchards in our country. Although many food types are imported these days, it is still vital that we say thanks for all the wonderful things that we have to eat.
It also gives us chance to think about others. We like to collect food items that we may give to a local charity. At 10.30am on Friday 26th October, Father Phil will be coming into school to lead our Harvest Assembly. We will have a short service in school, singing hymns, hearing readings and saying prayers for our food.
Linking with the appeal that Father Phil and his team at St. Mary’s Church, Sculcoates, are leading, we are collecting food donations for Hull Women’s Aid.
As always, we are extremely grateful for any contributions that you may donate for this worthy cause. If every pupil brings in items, we will have a staggering contribution.
Suggestions for donations:
Tins of food
Packets of biscuits; cereals, rice
Tea, coffee
Non-perishable foods
Please do not send in any fresh or perishable items and check the dates on food. We don’t want to send them food which has reached or will shortly be reaching the expiry dates.
