Capturing the Voice of Pupils on 'Environmental Stewardship' - a Hull University/Thrive PhD Research Project
We have been collaborating with Hull University on research into 'Environmental Stewardship'. Éireann Neeson is undertaking a PhD on this area and is jointly supervised by Hull University and our Trust. This term she has been leading workshops with our Eco Committees to find out what the pupils understand by this term, what they are already doing in schools and for the pupils to start action planning initiatives in their schools. Hull University/Stepney Primary Eco Games Workshop
For two hours this afternoon, the Stepney Pupil Voice Team members were engrossed in their Eco Games development session with Hull University's Dr Steven Forrest. They first identified the different parts of the school site using aerial maps. Then they plotted where potential climate hazards could have most effect before planning and building solutions. Their lego models included flood early warning and barrier systems, special snow defences and emergency protection equipment
