At Stepney Primary we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better.
We welcomed the Government’s announcement in June 2013 to provide additional funding until 2020 to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. We are committed to using this resource in developing high quality PE lessons, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people.
We have clear goals for 2019-20, although these have been hampered by the COVID-19 crisis which effectively put a stop to our plans for the year:
Target those children who have not attended a club this academic year;
Target those children who have not attended a Level 2 Inter-school competition this academic year;
Seek to offer more Level 2 competitive opportunities for Years r1-3.
Sport Premium Grant
Funding for schools is calculated by the number of primary aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11).
At Stepney we received £17,800 in 2018/19 and in 2019/20
