Our PE Coach is in the forefront of Stepney's Drive to Promote Active Lifestyles

We have received lots of positive feedback from our appearance on the lead article of the BBC Look North television programme last night. Congratulatory comments have come from a variety of people including our governors and our Trust's CEO. A crew came to film year 3 having a PE lesson. The children, who looked great in their matching Stepney PE kits, showed their ever-improving gymnastics skills. It was great to be able to report all the positive actions that we are taking at Stepney to improve children's health. One of the main reasons for our continuing success in this area is our PE coach, Mr Jones. He is extremely proactive in encouraging children to take part in and to enjoy a range of different sporting activities. He has the unique position of teaching pupils all the way through the school. His dedication and his high levels of PE coaching skills are a real asset to Stepney.
Mr Jones, alongside our Trust PE coach Mr Grindley and TA Mrs Barke provide a range of sporting clubs which are held after school. The list changes each half term to give different pupils the chance to take part in different sports. This half term the choice is:
Monday - Y3/4 Competition Club with Mr Grindley
Tuesday - Y5/6 Dodgeball Club with Ms Barke
Wednesday - Y2/3/4 Dance Club with Mr Jones
Thursday - Y5/6 Basketball Club with Mr Jones
Friday - Y1/2 Friday Fun Club with Mr Jones
