Den Building Bonanza

We had one of the best days of fun for a long time today. Chris Harman from the Den Experience spent the morning with years 1, 2 & 3 then with years 4, 5 & 6 this afternoon. He had brought loads of bamboo canes, rubber tubing and tarpaulins, together with ties and pegs. The instructions he gave the children were straight forward: 1) work in teams of six but choose these yourselves; 2) work together to construct a den from these materials so that all of you can fit in them; 3) cover them with tarpaulins because we are going to throw buckets of water of them with you inside the tent; 4) if you ask for help from any adults, they are to say NO. Having come to school dressed in old clothes, the pupils immediately set to work to build their dens and had an awesome time. It was such a brilliant teamwork day! Many thanks for Chris.
