Remembrance Service at St. Mary’s Church, Sculcoates

We took our pupils to St. Mary’s Church this morning for the annual Remembrance Service. It is 75 years since the D-Day landings in Normandy, so it was another poignant service. With year 6 readers telling us the history about the Armistice in 1918 and Father Phil leading the service, we all joined together to remember all those who have laid their lives down for our freedom. It is now becoming customary for our pupils to provide some impressive poppy displays. Led by Mr Brown, we had poppy-covered soldier effigies to brighten up the church. A bagpiper welcomed us to the service, which was attended by some of our parents.
