Important Message to Parents
Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Possible reopening of school to more pupils in June
We are sure you will have seen in the news that schools may reopen on 1 June to nursery, reception, year 1 and year 6 pupils if the government thinks it’s safe then.
We have received some further guidance and clarification from the government, which will hopefully help us create an action plan for our phased reopening. All our YHCLT schools are working together on these plans and we’ll share the plans for our school with you as soon as possible so you know what reopening might look like in practice.
It is important to note that all schools are different and it just isn’t possible for one plan to work for all schools. It is likely that any reopening plans will be phased over time and may look quite different for different schools. Above all any plans put in place will have the welfare and safety of children, families and staff as an absolute priority.
It’s a very unsettling time for us all, but rest assured that we will try hard to be ready to receive these year groups if it’s safe for our school to reopen in the coming weeks.
Please do also note, we’re also not going to be pressuring anyone to send their children to school, since you know your children and personal situation best. We’ll keep you updated with all our preparations for making sure the school is as safe as possible, so you can make an informed decision. Over the coming week we will be in touch with parents and carers of children in the relevant year groups to find out the numbers of pupils whose parents and carers wish for them to return. This will enable us to make further plans.
In the meantime, the school is still open only for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers. We know some employers will be encouraging you to return to work, but we’re not in a position right now to extend places to other children until we have clearer information and guidance from the government.
We’d like to thank you for your continued support in helping your child learn from home. We’ll need to keep going with this for a while yet, so please do continue to do what you can and stay in touch with us about how your child is doing.
If you have any questions, please contact myself by phoning the school on 01482 343690 and selecting Option 2 or email on email@example.com
