Audiology Screening for Foundation Stage 2 & Year 1 Pupils
Audiology screening is routinely offered to all children in Foundation Stage 2. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic the usual service delivery of school audiology screening has not been possible.
We are aware that the cohort of children who have had their 5th birthday during the academic years of 2019/20 and 2020/21 have not had their audiology screening completed, current Foundation Stage 2 and Year 1 pupils.
As the 0-19 Integrated Public Health Team our aim is to promote good health, prevent ill health and encourage healthy behaviour to enable your child to be healthy, happy and reach their full potential.
Good hearing is key to children’s development both academically and socially but problems can easily be missed as children find ways to cope with poor hearing.
To ensure all eligible children are offered an opportunity to have the screening completed we would like to offer your child an appointment at an audiology screening clinic. The clinics are to be held throughout the school summer holidays from 26th July 2021 through to 3rd September 2021 and will be held at Sunshine House, 70 Walker Street, Hull, HU3 2HE. There are car parking facilities available and we respectfully request adults wear a face mask and the child is accompanied by one adult only.
If you have concerns regarding your child’s hearing could you please contact 0-19 Integrated Public Health Team between Mondays and Wednesdays on telephone (01482) 335703 to arrange a hearing screening appointment for your child at Sunshine House.
