Year 5 David Hockney Day at Warter with Hull and East Yorkshire Children's University

Our year 5 pupils have had an amazing visit to the village of Warter today. This was courtesy of the Hull & East Yorkshire Children's University. They went to have a day being inspired by the work of David Hockney, whose famous 'Trees' painting was produced here. They heard about the background behind the painting and had a walk in the countryside to see the trees themselves. For many of our pupils, it was the first time that they had seen sheep in real life, so this was very exciting. They then spent a lovely peaceful sunny day producing some wonderful sketches and stunning paintings. Everyone agreed that it was certainly good to be on a school visit again after so many months of not being able to do this and that today's experience will stick in their memories for years to come. A massive thank you to the Children's University.
